The Sound Pills

From Radiohead to the Worksong, from The Beatles to the Canzoniere Grecanico Antico, from King Crimson to Bjork. This formation, active for three years now, is made up of Piera D’Isanto on vocals and effects and Marco Silvi on keyboards. Born with the intention of creating something different from a simple piano/voice duo, the project challenges stylistic and temporal distances, bringing together songs from the most diverse musical repertoires, creating an intense and original sound texture, and giving new life to ancient melodies through the use of effects and loopers.

The two musicians’ goal is to offer the listener true “sound pills”, precious and unique pearls that form a rich and unexpected musical necklace. “The Sound Pills” go beyond simple categorizations of “musical genres” to discover that Music, although speaking different languages, always retains the unique and unaltered message of its unmistakable beauty.

The Sound Pills” are very active on the Roman music scene, both through the innovative formula of the House-Concerts and with the new format “Le Biblio-Pillole Sonore” – concert-lectures that cover the entire history of African American music. Among the most important events they have participated in, we recall: the “NaDop” event in autumn 2015, performing in Naples at the Casina Pompeiana and the church of Santaniello in Caponapoli, and contributing to the related record project; the cultural cruise “Amare Leggere” in March 2018, organized by the publishing house “Agra” and the magazine “Leggere:Tutti”; and the concerts for the “Note in Biblioteca” series, organized by the I.U.C. (Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti) of the University “La Sapienza” in Rome.

In the summer of 2019, the album TiEsseO’ – Trattamento Sonoro Obbligatorio, sponsored by the I.U.C., was released, marking the peak of their creative journey.
