New Talents Jazz Orchestra

The New Talents Jazz Orchestra is a musical ensemble founded in Rome in 2012, under the guidance of trombonist and arranger Mario Corvini, consisting of young talented musicians from various regions of Italy, including Lazio, Tuscany, and Sicily. After a long and intense collaboration with concert lessons at the Casa del Jazz in Rome from 2012 to 2015, in 2016 the ensemble became the official orchestra for young jazz talents at the Musica per Roma Foundation – Auditorium Parco della Musica. The Orchestra recorded “Omaggio a Duke Ellington” for JazzIt Records in 2015 – a project that performed in prestigious venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art MACRO in Rome, the Teatro Argentina, Palazzo Venezia, the Villa Torlonia Theater, the Teatro Lido di Ostia, the municipality of Arpino, and Villa La Mortella in Ischia.

In 2016 the orchestra recorded “Extempora”, produced directly by Parco della Musica Records. Furthermore, in November 2017, the New Talents Jazz Orchestra performed Duke Ellington’s “Sacred Concerts” with the collaboration of the jazz choir of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory (directed by Carla Marcotulli), on the occasion of the “Jazz is my Religion” review within the of the Rome Jazz Festival.

In collaboration with the “Roma 3” University, the New Talents Jazz Orchestra creates, under the musical direction of Maestro Mario Corvini and the artistic direction of Maurizio Miotti, a series of concerts with listening guides linked to the soundtracks of the history of cinema (various events: Homage to Henry Mancini – Commedia all’Italiana – Cinema Noir – Cartoons – Hollywood Cinema) which have had and are having a strong positive response from the public in the Roman scene.
