The figure of Duke Ellington, one of the most important figures in the history of jazz music, is inextricably linked to orchestral musical production. Duke Ellington’s orchestra was one of the most famous jazz orchestras, characterized by the unique sounds that Ellington was able to create thanks to extraordinary musicians. In the concert Homage to Duke Ellington the New Talents Jazz Orchestra retraces the most important stages in the history of Duke Ellington and his orchestra, starting from the period of the Cotton Club in Harlem, up to the “main title” of Otto Preminger’s film “Anatomy of a Murder” passing through a stainless “Take the A Train”, or the sinuous “Sophisticated Lady”.
