Giulio Tosti, organist and pianist and Marco Silvi, pianist and tuner present an unusual four-hand formation for prepared piano. Starting from an initial inspiration in the work of John Cage, the duo launches into a timbral and improvisational exploration, pushing beyond the boundaries of common piano sounds and usual compositional structures. We want to contrast a piano as a “Tabula Plena” (of objects from the most disparate origins) with the “Tabula Rasa” of the musicians’ intuition which guides the narration of this impromptu journey among the infinite possibilities of sound.
