The musical pieces, almost all original, were created specifically for this project. Various genres and styles come together to showcase the many facets of Naples: from electronic fusion to modern or jazz reinterpretations of early 20th-century compositions; from lounge to sophisticated pop; from singer-songwriter pieces to rock and instrumental jazz. Starting from a musical composition crafted for the occasion, the artists adopted a location, monument, or cityscape—famous or lesser-known streets, squares, and alleys. Locations include Castel dell’Ovo, the Capodimonte steps, Mount Vesuvius, the port, the historic center, and the Veiled Christ in the Sansevero Chapel, as well as the imaginative landscapes of Maria Chiara. Though blind since birth, she tells of her sea, inspired by the evocative notes of “Atlante” by Piero Gallo.
