Marco Silvi

Pianist, composer and teacher, he was born in Rome and began his professional music studies during his stay in Madrid in 2004. He graduated in jazz piano in 2013 at the “Licinio Refice” Conservatory of Frosinone and in June 2016 he obtained the qualification to teaching Music Learning Theory according to Edwin E. Gordon, and becomes a teacher associated with the Auditing Institute. He followed several jazz specialization seminars such as InJazz Fabriano, Jazz in Laurino, Labro InJazz and Siena Jazz Summer, where he had the opportunity to meet and study with Franco D’Andrea, Danilo Rea, Barry Harris, John Taylor, Kenny Werner and others.

Since 2012 he has been part of the New Talents Jazz Orchestra, the official big band of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, directed by Maestro Mario Corvini. The intense concert activity sees this formation in prestigious locations among many: the Casa del Jazz in Rome, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Villa La Mortella (Ischia), the Teatro Nuovo in Milan, the “Jazz & Wine” Festival of Montalcino, the Macro of Testaccio (Rome), the necropolis of Cerveteri and Tarquinia and the gloomy Palladium of Rome. In 2015 the Orchestra recorded “Homage to Duke Ellington” for JazzIt Records and in 2016 “Extempora” recording produced directly by the Parco della Musica Records.

With the Argentine guitarist Emmanuel Losio he collaborates in the project “Two For The Road” jazz duo, with which he recorded the album “Sentieri” in June 2015, album that received excellent criticism from the Italian RAI historical trombonist Marcello Rosa, from the American pianist Greg Burk . The album Sentieri also goes up in the ranking in the Top 200 Release Jazz Charts in Hong Kong, 86th place.

Starting in 2015 he collaborates with Laura Lala, Sicilian singer and composer, and Marcello Allulli, saxophonist, for the project of the “Sicilian Trio”, in which they perform original music composed in Sicilian dialect, arranged in a jazzística key. Numerous concerts in Italian Cultural Institutes abroad.

From 2014 he collaborates with the singer Piera D’Isanto in the project “The Sound Pills”, a training that proposes a vast repertoire of music from different cultures and eras, with original arrangements and the use of loop station and electronics. In addition, the duo also produces a repertoire of original pieces that will shortly see the realization of a recording project in 2018.

He has collaborated with Mario Corvini, Marcello Allulli, Stefano Di Battista, Javier Girotto, Daniele Tittarelli, Massimo Nunzi, Marcello Rosa, Enrico Pieranunzi, Ferdinando Faraò, Carla Marcotulli, Franco Bolignari, Jesse Davis, Fabrizio Bosso, Greta Panettieri, Ronney Cuber, Maurizio Giammarco, Natalino Marchetti, Susanna Boots.
